It is evening when we arrive at Hotel Hirzer 2781. The light falls warmly through the transom windows and gives a first glimpse of the homely atmosphere of the cosy lounge with its snug seating, lush bouquets of flowers and warm colours. It smells of popcorn and cosiness. Hotel Hirzer 2781 is a real family business, run with passion and lots of love by Evelyn and Luis Mair and their three children Carolin, Annalisa and Thomas.

We are enchanted from the first moment. Every nook, cranny and room is lovingly designed with many small details that turn a hotel into a real home away from home. In the cosy farmhouse parlour, tradition meets rural cosiness. By the warm tiled stove, on the cosy sofa or at the bar - everywhere you will find snug spots for socialising in a cosy atmosphere. Host Luis Mair stands behind the bar and taps a cold beer while chatting with guests about the day's holiday and giving tips for things to do in the beautiful surroundings.
Many of the guests are regulars, have been coming to Hotel Hirzer 2781 with their children for years and obviously feel at home. Guests sit together in sociable groups and chat while the kids romp in the playroom, climb the climbing wall or splash around in the pool. Family friendliness is a top priority at Hotel Hirzer 2781.

The rooms and suites have also been lovingly designed with many details that create a feel-good atmosphere. Wooden floors, warm colours, heavy curtains that ensure a good night's sleep and modern bathrooms form the backdrop for cosy evenings after an eventful day on holiday.

In the sauna village (we haven't seen anything as beautiful as this yet!) or in the beauty centre, guests can unwind or let themselves be pampered by skilled hands. The wellness offer is extensive and ranges from soothing facial treatments to Indian massages. Children up to 18 years of age can also be pampered with the teen package with manicures and facials, just like the grown-ups.

The food sets standards

At the entrance to the restaurant, the evening menu whets the appetite for dinner. Hostess Evelyn Mair accompanies us to our cosy seat, from where our gaze wanders over the delicious salad buffet and the cosy dining room with its numerous snug corners. The Hirzer Genussprogramm has a rich pampering menu ready for all guests every day. The varied cuisine presents daily changing specialities from the Mediterranean and country cuisine. Game dishes, fish buffet and Tyrolean specialities pamper even the most demanding palates. In the morning, the day starts with a delicious gourmet breakfast with egg dishes as desired, fragrant waffles and freshly squeezed juice. In the afternoon, guests can indulge in snacks with small dishes, coffee and cake. To be honest, the bikini figure might suffer a little here, but it would be far too bad not to dig into the delicious dishes and desserts.

Fortunately, both the hotel with its fitness room and the beautiful area around Hafling offer enough opportunities to keep the holiday pounds in check. All year round, the region is a wonderful holiday destination in the midst of romantic nature. Hikers get their money's worth here just as much as winter sports enthusiasts, who have the best opportunities for varied downhill runs with the nearby Merano 2000 ski area and can improve their skills at the ski school. The beautiful spa town of Merano is a short drive away and delights with its Mediterranean atmosphere, fairytale castles, churches and museums.

If you are looking for conviviality, you will find it at Hotel Hirzer 2781, if you prefer to switch off and look for peace and quiet, you will also find it in one of the numerous cosy corners or on the magnificent terrace with a wonderful view.

Good to know:
The Hotel Hirzer 2781 is located a little outside the village in very quiet surroundings. Although the public bus or ski bus runs at regular intervals, it makes sense to have your own car or hire a car in order to make excursions into the beautiful surroundings.
