We were particularly looking forward to our recent visit to the Principal Son Amoixa country hotel on Mallorca. The beautiful manor house with its two towers and lovingly landscaped garden has been with us since the very beginning of fincahotels.com over 18 years ago! Over the years, the luxurious country hotel in the east of Mallorca has been a guarantee for stylish holidays and excellent cuisine. Recently, the country hotel was taken over by new owners who have brought a breath of fresh air into the historic walls - we wanted to see for ourselves!
Once a ruin, now a modern country hotel
We have already spent many wonderful moments at the Principal Son Amoixa - or as it was called before the Haupt family took over: Son Amoixa Vell. And many of our guests also love and appreciate the stylish atmosphere of this charming country hotel on the east coast.
Just a few kilometres from the coast between Manacor and Porto Cristo, this charming country hotel is surrounded by almond plantations, meadows and fields. As soon as you arrive, the country hotel with its two striking towers peeks through the trees and gives you a glimpse of what holidaymakers can expect at Principal Son Amoixa. Directly from the car park, we stroll through the lovingly landscaped garden, which is green and blooming. The palm trees have grown magnificently and emphasise the special ambience of the 4-star country hotel. A wide flight of stone steps leads to the piazza, where breakfast and dinner are served in the summer months.
Old faces, new ambience
As soon as we enter the hotel, we are delighted to greet many familiar faces, such as the current hotel manager Christine Sturm, who has also been with the hotel since it opened over 20 years ago. She shows us around and shows us everything that has changed in recent months.
The change is most evident in the beautiful rooms of the Principal Son Amoixa. A uniform, modern design with bright colours and natural materials ensures a cosy atmosphere - state-of-the-art bathrooms promise a good start to the day!
Now with a lunch menu and new wellness area by the pool

A uniform, modern design with light colours and natural materials ensures a cosy atmosphere - state-of-the-art bathrooms promise a good start to the day! All in all, the rooms and the entire hotel have a modern, fresh breeze blowing through them, reflecting the current zeitgeist of a modern, exclusive country hotel.
The restaurant now also serves a nice selection of lunch dishes such as club sandwiches, salads, bowls or hamburgers. This allows guests to relax and enjoy their day at the hotel and the beautifully landscaped pool.
The new operators have added a small wellness area where massages and beauty treatments are offered and where the modern sauna is located. There is plenty of space on the cosy daybeds and sun loungers around the large pool with a separate children's area.
If you prefer something a little more sporty, you can play tennis, basketball or football on the new multifunctional court.
After a relaxing afternoon at the Principal Son Amoixa Vell on Mallorca, we are now looking forward to dinner. The hotel has always stood for excellent cuisine and culinary delights, and nothing has changed under the new management. On the contrary: the plates that arrive at our table delight us with lovingly arranged dishes that are not just a feast for the eyes.
What we particularly like: the old mill at the foot of the stairs is transformed into a lovely little bar at the weekend. So before dinner, we enjoy a delicious cocktail from Nico and bring the day's holiday to a relaxed close.

Even after so many years, it is clear that a holiday at the Principal Son Amoixa is a very good choice. Anyone who wants to enjoy their holiday on Mallorca in a stylish ambience and values excellent cuisine and professional hospitality will feel very much at home in this enchanting country hotel.
