Arriving at the country hotel Son Trobat Wellness & Spa is a dream. Here you immediately feel that you have arrived. And after enjoying the cosy rooms, the perfect gastronomy and the wellness offer, you are guaranteed never to want to leave again. We have just returned from Son Trobat - and we have to tell you, we had a tear in our eye when we left. Because the short stay we enjoyed at Son Trobat provided absolute relaxation, holiday feeling and pure bliss.

Idyllic location in the middle of fields

The country hotel is located in the east of Mallorca near Sant Llorenc between meadows and fields. Even from the car park you can see the manor house with its natural stone façade, which is so typical of Mallorcan country houses. We enter and, despite the warm summer day, we are greeted by a pleasant coolness in the cosy salon, which comes from the thick stone walls. Large armchairs and sofas invite us to linger. We are greeted cheerfully by Manuela, the good soul at reception, who accompanies us to our room.

Dreamlike beautiful rooms

Our double room "Es Forn" is directly opposite the main house. We fell in love as soon as we opened the door. Everything is lovingly furnished and harmoniously decorated. Wood-beamed ceilings, decorative elements made of straw, a cosy bed and a sofa - white and natural tones were combined and conjure up a pleasant feel-good atmosphere. The cosy yet modern country house style continues in the bathroom. The highlight is our walk-in rain shower with river pebbles. This promises a good start to the day. On the adjacent terrace we find a table with chairs and two loungers, from which we enjoy a wonderful view over the finca. But only for a short while, because first we want to explore everything in detail.

Mediterranean garden with water features

This is how we roam around the large, spacious estate, where the rooms are spread over different buildings. Son Trobat has a total of 51 double rooms (with and without terrace) and suites with separate living and sleeping areas. Since the rooms are well distributed, you don't notice the size of the hotel at all. Everywhere there are winding corners, in many places water fountains or a fountain are splashing, inviting you to linger.

Orange trees, tall palms and flowering oleander bushes adorn the paths. Everything is beautifully laid out and immaculately maintained. We are thrilled by the beautiful grounds, which exude pure holiday feeling. Surrounding Son Trobat are vast estates, meadows and fields, which now in late summer form a great contrast to this green oasis.

The gastronomic concept is convincing

We were particularly impressed by the gastronomic concept of Finca Son Trobat. Although we arrived in the afternoon, we can still choose from an extensive snack menu in the restaurant and fortify ourselves for the afternoon. After a pamboli and a refreshing glass of sangria, we enjoy the beautiful pool, surrounded by numerous loungers and comfortable daybeds. The view sweeps far across the meadows and fields - pure idyll! Now in summer, there are many families with children swimming in the pool. But this is spread out. In the late afternoon, we have the pool almost to ourselves. Especially pleasant: hotel guests can order a refreshing drink or an ice cream at the pool bar at any time.

Leisure fun for young & old

Furthermore, Son Trobat offers a beautiful wellness area with a large indoor swimming pool (can also be used by families with children until 4 pm). If desired, treatments can also be booked here. Right next door is the fitness room and a well-maintained tennis court is also available to guests. For the younger guests, there is a children's pool and a small playground with a table tennis table. For excursions into the surrounding area, there are also good mountain bikes from Specialized available free of charge for adults. It is a pity that there are no children's bikes.

Atmospheric garden restaurant

The restaurant, where breakfast is also served, is located on a beautiful square surrounded by shady trees. In the evening, the fairy lights shine romantically here. A great atmosphere in which to end the evening perfectly.

On the menu are fine dishes, meat and fish dishes, but also vegetarian options and children's dishes. I haven't eaten salt-coated fish in probably ten years. In most restaurants, this delicacy has disappeared from the menu or is only available for 2 people. But here at Son Trobat I finally get to enjoy it again and order a sea bream in salt batter. Knut and our son share a Chateaubriand. Both dishes are prepared at the table and served with skilled hands. And what can we say? It was delicious!

Atmospheric ambience

After dinner, we blissfully stroll around the finca for a while, enjoying the clear starry night and the romantically lit property.

A great start to the day

After a restful night and the delicious breakfast in the morning with egg dishes as desired, bread and rolls and plenty of fruit, sausage and cheese, we unfortunately have to leave again. We would have liked to stay one more night, but unfortunately the hotel is already fully booked. So we leave with one laughing eye and one crying eye - but for sure, we will be back. Very soon!

For whom is Son Trobat Wellness & Spa the right hotel?

We know that many of our clients often want a small hotel. Of course, with 51 rooms, Son Trobat is relatively large for a finca hotel. And yet you don't notice much of it. Everything is well distributed on the spacious property and many guests are also out and about during the day, so you can always find a quiet place to relax.

What the size does bring, however, is the large leisure and gastronomic offer, with which the Son Trobat Wellness & Spa not only scores points but also convinces: starting with the very nice wellness area and the top-maintained tennis court to the culinary offer. You can almost always order something to eat or drink here. From breakfast to the lunch bar or the pool bar. After dinner in the restaurant, there is still a bar open for guests where they can order drinks until late at night. This is a big plus and a luxury if you want to spend some very relaxing days on the finca and don't want to leave the house. Son Trobat Wellness & Spa is very suitable for families as well as couples. However, you should know that the rooms can only be booked for a maximum of three people.

Conclusion: Son Trobat is the perfect hotel for holidaymakers who don't want mass tourism, but still appreciate a very good and wide range of gastronomy and leisure options!
